Pope/Douglas broke ground for the regional Glacial Ridge Compost Facility, to be owned and operated by Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management (PDSWM) in mid July. The facility will serve the organics management needs of partner counties (Pope, Douglas, Grant, Stevens, Otter Tail, Tri-County – Stearns/Benton/Sherburne). Facility will utilized technologically advanced systems under a facility and equipment design agreement with Engineered Compost Systems. Facility is permitted with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and is set set to open for business in late October 2021.
