Swap Events
Swap events are community reuse events that provide an opportunity to save reusable items from being discarded and give them new life and a new home. You don’t have to bring something to take something. If you do leave something, don’t feel like you have to take something away.
Swaps are not intended as events for operators of consignment shops to re-stock shelves or online merchants to resell donations. The spirit of a swap is a community event to allow people to de-clutter or find items that they need or want for their personal enjoyment.
No items may be sold; everything must be given and taken freely.
Upcoming Swap Events
Halloween Costumes & Fall Decor – Oct. 15
- Location: Environmental Center – Reuse Center
- Date: Wednesday, October 15th, 2025
- Time: 4PM – 6PM
- Early drop off of items starts on Monday, 9/29 and continues until Wednesday, 10/15 at 2:00PM in the Environmental Center Drive-through.

- Gently used and clean Halloween costumes
- Halloween props
- Plastic jack-o-lanterns
- Halloween Lights
- Fall leaf garlands
- Autumn wreaths
- Fall decor items
- What Not to Bring:
- Damaged or poor condition items
- Non-working item

Back to School Swap – event previously held – look out for future event with similar theme

- Date: Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025
- Time: Swap from 4-6 p.m. – Environmental Center reuse center
- Early drop-off of items Aug. 4-5 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Aug. 6 from noon-3 p.m. – Environmental Center drive-through

- Notebooks
- Pocket folders
- Binders
- Pencils, pens, dry erase markers, highlighters, etc.
- Art supplies: Color pencils, crayons, small paint brushes, etc.
- Pencil cases
- Pencil sharpeners
- Glue sticks, tape
- Calculators, graphing calculators
- Backpacks (clean, working zippers, no holes)
- Gently used K-12 clothing
- Gently used shoes (Tennis shoes, running shoes)
- Gym clothing bags (clean)

Garden Tools & Recreation – event previously held – look out for future event with similar theme
- Location: Environmental Center
- Date: Wednesday, May 7, 2025
- Time: Swap from 4-7 p.m. – Environmental Center reuse center
- Early drop-off of items May 5-6 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and May 7th from noon-3 p.m. – Environmental Center drive-through
- Accepted Items
- Camping: tents, backpacks, sleeping bags
- Skiing & snowboarding: bindings, boots, poles, goggles, skiis, snowboards, sleds
- Biking: water bottles, panniers/saddle bags, bags, lights, misc
- Hiking: poles, binoculars, headlamps, flashlights
- Fishing: Working fishing poles, tackle & tackle boxes, fishing line, lures, net, bait buckets
- Garden and yard tools: shovels, trowels, racks, pitchforks, hoses, etc
- Pots & planters: decorative plastic, wood, terracotta, metal
- Books: gardening, plants, landscaping, fishing, hiking, hunting

- Greenhouse ‘single use’ plastic pots and trays
- Broken items
- Fishing hooks that are not secured in packaging
